Information & Tips about San Vincenzo:
San Vincenzo – included in the Province of Leghorn along the Ligurian coast – is one of the most famous and popular tourist place in Tuscany. In fact, from 2006 to 2009, this town was awarded with the Bandiera Blu acknowledging the beauty of its territory and the quality of the services it offers. San Vincenzo is characterized by a long, sandy coast that plunges into crystal clear waters; beaches are edged with thick woods, pinewoods and Mediterranean Maquis. To the natural beauties we can add all the services offered by modern, well-equipped bathing facilities; you can actually find bars, refreshments-rooms, hotels and tourist villages within reach. The port of the town, once used for business purposes, has now a tourist vocation and can hold hundreds of boats. You can play several water sports here, including underwater activities: during the world wars many ships sank, such as the bulk carrier Capacitas and the Caboto, whose wrecks are still visible.
In San Vincenzo you can arrange excursions thanks to which you will discover natural beauties and old buildings and fortifications characterizing the town and its surroundings: in fact, not so far from the city center we can find Baratti and Campiglia with their Etruscan finds, the Rimigliano Park where you can spend a whole day immersed in nature, and the Thermal Baths of Venturina where you can really relax yourself.
