Pietra Ligure

Information & Tips about Pietra Ligure:

Along the Riviera Ligure di Ponente we can find the small town of Pietra Ligure, one of the most famous and popular tourist destination in Liguria. Every year, thousands of tourists coming from all over the world enliven this wonderful place full of breathtaking natural beauties – it is also included in the Blue Guide of Legambiente awarded with a 'vela'.

The main attraction is undoubtedly the sea: Pietra Ligure lies on a stretch of the Ligurian coast where the sea is particularly beautiful and unpolluted. Its beaches, extending for more than six kilometers, are made up of a fine, light sand, with few pebbles; there are some fractions of free beach, all perfectly equipped with showers, toilets and, sometimes, even play areas for children. But there are many private beaches with lidos, bars and restaurants where you can rent sun beds, deckchairs and beach umbrellas. The so-called beach of boats is worth mentioning for it was the place where once fishermen docked their boats, and it is exactly opposite to the city centre.

The seabed is characterized by shallow waters extended for several meters from the water's edge so that it is recommended for children who can then play safely; going out to the sea the water becomes deeper so that tourists can do scuba diving and enjoy the wonderful sight of an uncontaminated seabed. For those who like nature, we recommend to visit the large green area at the foot of the Mount Trabocchetto (Rocca delle Fene), where they can find a big park with several species of plants.

At night, the ideal is a relaxing walk on the seaside promenade between the beach and the built-up area: adorned with palm-trees, the street is full of restaurants, boutiques and craftsmen's studios so that you can take a souvenir from Pietra Ligure, the splendid oasis of peace and tranquility.
