Monterosso
Information & Tips about Monterosso:
Monterosso al Mare is an old seaside village placed along the Riviera Ligure di Levante between Punta del Mesco and the isle of Tinetto. The village is to the west of Cinque Terre and it is one of the most renowned and popular places in the region.
In fact, unlike other villages, characterized by small bays and inlets, Monterosso has a very long beach that promoted a considerable tourist development. The panorama tourists can enjoy is really unique: at the back of the small town there are sweet hills covered with vineyards and olive groves, while on the other side there are golden beaches and sea cliffs overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Ligurian Sea. One of the most beautiful beaches is that of Fegina, in the modern part of the town, beyond the Colle dei Cappuccini: it can be easily reached through a tunnel of few tens of meters long. This place is characterized by the beauty of its coast, fully equipped to welcome all visitors who choose to spend here their holidays. The beach is made up of gravel and smooth pebbles, and many sports activities can be done here such as, for example, swimming, windsurfing, sailing and sea-watching to entertain sports lovers.
At night, you can have a walk along the wonderful promenade of Monterosso, crowded with little shops, pizzerias, bars and restaurants: here you can taste the delicious specialties of the Ligurian food and the famous wine from Cinque Terre. Furthermore, during the Summer nights, several shows and concerts are performed in the wide terrace overlooking the sea that is located within few meters from the boat dock.
