Modica is one of the Italian towns listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO: its beauty lies exactly in the perfect combination between the unpolluted nature of its territory, its limpid sea and the marvelous architectural treasures built by men across the centuries.
Tourists who decide to spend their holidays in Modica can, therefore, combine relax, amusement, nature and culture. One of the main attraction are its beaches and coves: for those who prefer the tranquility of small, isolated beaches there are many places where they can enjoy calmness and relax in the sun; while those who love to have fun won't be surely disappointed thanks to the numerous nice places along the coast. In fact, there are a lot of chalets, restaurants, and bars that are open till late at night. During the day, they can go to one of the numerous beaches such as Punta Tramontana, one of the best ones with its fine, golden sand mirroring in a calm and transparent sea, and Marina di Modica. Here, you can find a little bay, where strong winds always blow because of its position and morphology: the place is actually chosen by those who love surfing and windsurfing.
Not so far from Marina di Modica, you can visit the wonderful protected natural areas: the Pantani Longarini and the protected area of Vendicari.
