Luni lies along the banks of the river Magra, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, and belong to the municipality of Ortonovo. Being the extreme ramification of the East Liguria, Luni attracts every year thousands of visitors who love its uncontaminated nature, its enchanting sea and the several historical testimonies. There are a lot of beaches, some free and other private and characterized by bathing resorts offering all comforts. The waters are crystal-clear, clean and wonderful; there is a rock barrier right in front of the beach so that the water's edge is protected against big waves. This feature, together with the shallow water, makes it ideal for families with younger children, who can then play and enjoy themselves without risk. Furthermore, there are also several play areas for children and a games room not so far from Luni.

Those who are fond of culture can't absolutely miss a visit to this enchanted place, a renowned Roman colony with its important port the ruins of which are still visible today. Indeed, Luni is an important archaeological site, including the National Archaeological Museum of Ortonovo, the attached archaeological area and the elliptic amphitheater dated back to the I century and still well preserved.
