Laigueglia
Information & Tips about Laigueglia:
The town of Laigueglia, in the province of Savona, is a small seaside village on the coast of Riviera Ligure di Ponente; considered as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, every year it attracts thousands of visitors both from Italy and other countries, especially in the summertime.
Located in a privileged position, between Capo Santa Croce and Capo Mele, and enclosed between the soft hills and the Baia del Sole, Laigueglia is ideal for all those who are looking for relaxing and amusing holidays. The town coast extends for more than three kilometers and is characterized by golden, sandy beaches; sea waters are clear, clean and shallow thus suitable to families with younger children. Among the main attractions, there are many sports activities, mostly water sports: in fact, in summertime several lessons of swimming and sailing are arranged, besides numerous fishing competitions and boat races. Furthermore, you can rent sailboats and canoes provided that you are already experienced in steering.
The green hills at the back of Laigueglia are particularly appreciated by those who love excursions and walking into the nature; on foot, by bike or riding a horse, you can discover the most suggestive panoramas; there are several paths to follow and they all lead to the old built-up area of Colla Micheri and to the Castle of Andora.
At night, we recommend to visit the city centre of the town: here tourists can find enchanting tiny squares overlooking the sea, old churches and monuments, old-fashioned narrow streets as a testimony of the past of Laigueglia, an old village of fishermen and merchants.
