A relatively recent town, founded in 1923 from the unification of eleven municipalities, Imperia is today among the most beautiful and important place in the Riviera Ligure di Ponente, capable of attracting thousands of Italian and foreign tourists who love its mild climate, its breathtaking panoramas and its historical and art treasures.

Its geographical position and morphology are very peculiar: in fact, the town is almost entirely distributed along a promontory facing the sea. There are numerous beaches, above all private beaches endowed with modern seaside facilities to offer any kind of service to tourist, from the hiring of deckchairs, sun beds and beach umbrellas to bars and restaurants within a stone's throw from the seashore. In the district of beaches belonging to Marina di Imperia, near the long dock, there is a pretty, free beach equipped with public funds: it offers showers, toilets and a summerhouse with a terrace. Furthermore, a rescue service is also available so that the beach is very safe and suitable to families with children, too.

After a whole day spent on the seashore, at night you can visit the town, perhaps after having dinner in one of the numerous restaurants facing the sea: besides tasting the typical specialties of Imperia you can enjoy here a really unique sight. Then, you can have a walk along the streets of the town, admiring stately homes and old churches. As regards young people, Imperia is full of night clubs and discos where they can spend the whole night.
