Fonteblanda, along the Southern borderline of the Maremma Natural Park, is now an expanding seaside destination. Its beaches, 15-25 meters large, are sandy and surrounded by the thick, Maremma pinewood. The sea is one of the more attracting component for tourists: its unpolluted waters lap on the shore made up of golden sand and on the small coves, offering to the eyes of visitors a unique sight. Furthermore, the charm of its sea-floors can be added; with the help and support of trained instructors you can devote yourself to scuba diving and snorkeling. You can surely enjoy yourself whatever will be your age: you can rent small boats, you can do windsurf, or you can attend lessons of water-skiing and sailing courses.
Besides relaxing yourself laying in the sun on the marvelous beaches, it is possible to organize excursions in the middle of nature: the Monti dell'Uccellina are one of the best destination, a paradise corner included in the Natural Park of Maremma. It is a very important place from a naturalistic point of view, but this area is also known for its historical and artistic value, for the numerous observation towers standing out on the top of the hills. Moreover, it is worthwhile visiting the Terme dell'Osa, thermal baths the beneficial properties of which were known since ancient times by Etruscan and Roman people. There are hot water sources (32° C) of saline-sulphur type, particularly indicated for treating arthritis, rheumatisms and skin diseases.
