Custonaci
Information & Tips about Custonaci:
Custonaci is located in one of the most charming and interesting areas in Western Sicily, between the gulfs of Bonagia and Makari. With its ancient history, the town attracts every year, especially in summertime, thousands of tourists coming from any part of Europe who appreciate particularly its unpolluted nature.
In fact, in Custonaci there is a great variety of natural habitats, ranging from the beautiful beaches with their crystal-clear waters to the sharp tops of mounts Cofano and Sparagio, to the green countryside, to the soft hills. The main attractive is undoubtedly its sea: there are many beaches with a jagged coastline. We can mention, among others, the beach of Cornino that alternates sand with rocks: sea waters are shallow and underwater fishing can be done. After bathing, you can sunbathe lying on the rocks, which are a good alternative to the classical sandy beaches.
Furthermore, from Custonaci you can easily reach the tourist zone of San Vito: here, besides the wonderful beach, there is the renowned natural reserve of Zingaro, an uncontaminated wildlife oasis including also the clear waters of the sea with its splendid seabed populated by a great variety of fish.
At night, the town is crowded with people: besides the several restaurants overlooking the sea, where you can taste the specialties of local food, tourists can also find a lot of places where they can enjoy themselves with friends all night long; for those who prefer a more tranquil night, they can have a relaxing walk along the seaside promenade.
