Cinisi
Information & Tips about Cinisi:
The small village of Cinisi lies at the foot of Mount Pecoraro, in the province of Palermo. It is a renowned and popular tourist resort, a coveted destination for thousands of tourists, both Italian and foreigners, who choose it every year to spend their holidays.
The peculiarity of Cinisi's territory lies in its natural beauties: although its surface is very limited, in Cinisi you can find both marine and mountain landscapes. As far as the former are concerned, the coast, though being rather extended, is almost exclusively included in the State property – more precisely it belongs to the Air Force – consequently it is off-limits. On the border with the municipality of Terrasini, we can find the marvelous beach of Magaggiari: located in the gulf of Castellammare, the beach is made up of very fine, golden sand and its waters are turquoise blue. It is long and rather large so that, even in the most populated periods, you can enjoy the sea and the sun in tranquility; moreover, it is endowed with modern bathing facilities in order to meet every need the tourist may have. Near the shore, the seabed is shallow and rocky.
For those who love mountains and excursions, we recommend to have long walk or to take part into the several bike or horseback riding tours arranged here: going up the Vallone del Furi you can get to Piano Margi, a nice locality about 600 meters above the sea level. Here, you can find the Bosco di Santo Canale, a luxuriant, uncontaminated natural area where several species of plants and animals are preserved.
