Developed along a narrow strip of land extending in the middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the town of Capo d'Orlando is inextricably tied with the surrounding waters; its very old origin, where history and legend are mixed up, its natural beauties and its artistic and architectural heritage make it one of the most appreciated tourist destination in the whole Sicily.

The coast, on which a luxuriant vegetation of Mediterranean Maquis grows, is made up of cliffs, small, uncontaminated coves and big stacks; the sea is very clean, the waters are crystal- clear so allowing to see perfectly its seabed. Full of fish, particularly sea basses and white breams, the sea opposite to Capo d' Orlando is ideal to do not only fishing, both game fishing and underwater fishing, but also several other activities: swimming, sailing, canoeing, and sea-watching. Not to mention diving: on the seabed it's not unusual to find wrecks of ships and other very old finds, small treasures to discover.

Furthermore, in the hamlet of San Gregorio, near the tourist port, we can find the so-called "Cave di Mercadante", visible during low tide: they are enormous stone disks engraved in the rock with a diameter of a pair of meters. According to scholars, they were probably used as milestones in the past.

At night, it is very pleasant to walk along the city centre developed around Via Piave: here, we can find numerous shops, ranging from boutiques to craftsmen's workshops. Not so far from here there is also the seaside promenade that gives rise to a really breathtaking panorama.
